EMBRACING RENEWABLE ENERGY
Our commitment to sustainability extends to our energy consumption. Our London Heathrow Unit has installed rooftop solar panels, generating 303,737.6 KWH of clean energy this year, saving £150,000 and preventing 191 tonnes of carbon emissions.
Our Madrid Unit and DO & CO Turkey source all their electricity needs from renewable sources, including solar and wind power. Further roll European out to follow.
This shift demonstrates our commitment to environmental responsibility.
CLOSING THE LOOP ON FOOD WASTE
Our DO & CO Madrid Unit is pioneering a circular approach to food waste management. Through an in-house composting system utilizing anaerobic digestion, we are transforming food waste into valuable organic fertilizer for local farmers. This initiative aims to divert tons of food waste from landfills, reducing our environmental impact and supporting sustainable agriculture.
Our London unit is collaborating with a waste-to-energy company to convert waste into reusable material. This material is then sold to entities that generate energy from it, creating a circular economy model. Revenues from this initiative are directed towards expanding our renewable power purchasing agreements, furthering our commitment to clean energy.
PACKAGING SOLUTIONS WITH REDUCED IMPACT
Our Istanbul Unit demonstrates its commitment to sustainability by switching from aluminum foil to reusable melamine packaging for Turkish Airlines products. This initiative reduces aluminum consumption by 31%, lowers cargo weight, and contributes to a smaller carbon footprint. DO & CO is dedicated to integrating sustainable practices throughout its operations, prioritizing environmental responsibility without compromising quality and service.
DO & CO US Launches DOCO-tivities: Fostering Diversity and Employee Well-Being
At DO & CO US, we foster a diverse, inclusive, and well-balanced work environment through our social committee, DOCO-tivities. We celebrate Black History Month, organize fitness classes, and educate about the LGBTQ+ community. We also host a potluck where employees share dishes from their home countries, promoting cultural exchange and camaraderie.
